Let’s Expand Our Notions Around ‘Meditation’!

Ladies,

Oh my gosh, I had wanted to meditate for years. 🧘

After all, I am a Health Coach, so obviously I know the importance of meditation for the health of my brain and my body.

But my meditation cushion had collected dust in the beautiful sacred space I fastidiously set up for myself. I felt the niggling guilt that I was not giving myself this gift.

Now I’ve found a new way to give myself this gift. These pictures show one of the places I go to for my WALKING - yes, walking - not SITTING meditation. And look who I brought! 🐶

Walking meditation works just as well as sitting meditation.

➡️ It is slow and conscious and takes me out of fight or flight.

➡️ It activates my parasympathetic nervous system as I focus on only my slow and deep breaths.

➡️ It takes me out of my ‘monkey mind’ as they refer to it in yoga, and is just as beneficial as sitting meditation for my body and brain.

So go on, give a different way of meditating a try - your body and brain will love you for it.
